This poll states that about 34% the 1000 American voters being asked are in favor of military force to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons. People want the US to get involved in these matters because these weapons could possibly be turned on the nation, or on their ally nations. The Middle East is an unstable area, and if they were to hold these weapons, the results would be unpredictable. If anything, the percentage of those in favor of involving military force will increase. It's even surprising that the percentages are this low, for one would presume that Americans would want to stop these Middle East nations from having as little destructible weapons as possible. The poll doesn't include any percentages previous to this study, so it's difficult to compare the opinions of Americans in the past.

This poll is  a graph showing the percentages of whether or not Americans are afraid the nation will slip into another recession. 95% of the people are nervous that America will falter on its feeble legs and dip into another deep depression similar to that of the one we had for the past few years. About four percent of the people taking this poll are confident on the American economy that we will become strong once again and only remember the recession as a dark shadow of the past. About one percent isn't quite sure yet, which is justifiable because economics is a fragile force, and it only takes a single mistake to break its strength. Over time the opinion will definitely change. Because the US is only just starting to get out of the recession, people are wary of what will happen next, and they want to prepare for the worst. However, in three or four years, there may be a complete reversal of these percentages once the population realizes America is able to get back on her feet again. The fact that the nation had such an awful depression stripped them of their previous confidence in the US and made them become frightened of the future. So many people's jobs were lost, and many individuals were struggling paying their basic necessities. They have a right to be scarred of what may happen next, and it's going to take awhile for these people to gain back that confidence they once had before.

http://zogby.com/news/2011/11/02/ibope-zogby-poll-54-voters-support-student-loan-changes-are-split-increased-government-involvement/

This poll asked the question as to whether or not the government should ease the requirements for individuals to receive student loans, and whether or not this individual is also worried about increasing the national debt by doing so. Overall, 54% of Americans are in favor of loosening the requirements for a person to receive national loans. However, there is a dramatic split between this idea between Democrats and Republicans. The Democrats are in favor of loosening these requirements, but isn't so worried about the increase in national debt. However, the Republicans don't want to loosen these restrictions, and they are deeply concerned with the increase in this debt. Americans think this way because most want to have the opportunity to gain a college education. With the more availability of financial aid in current times and more scholarship money floating around, people realize they have more of an opportunity to go to a university than ever before. More people want the government to assist them in doing so, because the institution involved itself heavily in other areas of people's lives, such as welfare and medicare, that they find no reason why the government shouldn't assist them with their college degree. Public opinion with begin to agree more with this and the percentage will increase, especially those in the working class who need grants and extra money to help pay for college.

This poll asked it's 1000 participants whether or not the government should give legal recognition to marriages between same-sex couples; fifty-three percent agreed that the government should do so. Though, how to do so is an even bigger issue, for some people think it should be a state-by-state basis while others think the decision should be national, while others believe there should be something written in the constitution banning such a union. Over the years, more people have become more tolerable towards homosexuality, especially the younger generations. Those setting up the polls noticed that those younger than 65 years of age were more likely to support same-sex marriage. This is because the younger generation has learned to be more accepting of people's differences, and they are now realizing homosexuals don't affect them as much as they thought they did. The amount of support will continue to increase over the years rather than decrease, and eventually it will be legalized throughout the nation. Several states have already passed the bill to support it, and it's only a matter of time until the others follow suit.

http://www.ivotepolls.com/entertainment/movies/harry-potter-vs-twilight/

This unprofessional poll asks its participants which is the better series: Harry Potter or Twilight? Harry Potter won my a landslide with about 87% out of 342 people. Other websites have polls very similar if not exact to this one, and each time Harry Potter seems to dominate over Twilight. This is because not only is Harry Potter written better, but it's also a more developed and has an wonderful story line. Also, many people grew up with the series and they have more of an emotional attachment to the series than to Twilight. A majority of those who read the Twilight saga are teenage girls, while people of all ages and all genders are enchanted by the Harry Potter series. Public opinion will not change, for more people in society are beginning to realize how horrible Twilight is, and Harry Potter already has a strong fan-base, and it only continues to grow throughout the years. There never really was a change between the two, but since Twilight's emergence, there has been a battle over which series is better, and Harry Potter always ends up on top.

The American population in stable in the opinions of some situations, such as abortion, same-sex marriage, because these are moral issues and are rather continuous and don't have aspects that change on a hour by hour basis. However,  American population is fickle in areas such as foreign policy, the war, and economic issues, because these issues constantly change, and people are always getting involved in them, changing policies and such. Allegiances change, people become fed up with war, the list is endless, and people change their opinion with what is occurring at this very moment. This is neither a good nor bad thing, just a fact of American life.

On the 4th poll discussed, the recognition of same-sex marriage poll, the survey is accurate in reporting that people under 65 are much more accepting of it than older generations. Eventually, the "under 65" generation will become the older generation and I think either the national government or state governments will be given power to allow recognition of same-sex marriage.

I found your 4th poll interesting. It is true that the under 65 generation is much more open to the differences of people, and it's evident not just in the poll, but on a every day basis. Same-sex marriage will definitely get legalized at some point in the future, with this generation becoming the older generation, and the then-younger generation will follow suit with the openness and equality.

I find it interesting that 54% of Americans are for loosening the standards for student loans. Its interesting because its so low, if the republicans are worried about a debt and jobs education is a way to lean people off the welfare system and help them find jobs thus helping the economy and saving money.

I don't think it is a shock to anyone that people under the age of 65 are more open to accepting same-sex marriage. If the 53 percent have their way as they become the older generation, I think same-sex marriage will be recognized all around the country.
I also love your Harry Potter poll....wizards who defeat dark lords are sooo much better than sparkly vampires XD

Same-sex marriage should be left for each individual state to decide on, but I do think every state should decide to legalize it. I never really understood why it is illegal to begin with. But like you said, younger generations are just getting more and more accepting of it so when all the old school people die, it will surely legalize gay marriages.

Its no surprise to see the general conseusus about the american economy to be so grim. The last recession came as a bit of a shock to many americans, and if you scare a people enough, they'll be wary for years to come. I personally fit into that one percent thats on the fence, espically with the occupy and tea party movements going on.
